Here is a little more on the thought behind the character creations...
Hank the Ranger
Human - Ranger (Arcane Archer)
Iconic Item: Bow
Presto the Magician
There are only two races that have glasses as a Facial Detail, halfling and dwarf. Obviously Presto would be a little shorter then in the cartoon, but I think it's worth it for the glasses.
Halfing - Wizard
Iconic Item: Hat
Sheila the Thief
Went Elf with her to get the Dragon mark of Shadow, since it is an "always on" invisibility item.
Elf - Rogue
Iconic Item: Cloak
Bobby the Barbarian
Needed to make him a halfling to get the size of the character correct. He would probably spec in two-handed weapons, focusing on great clubs.
Halfing - Barbarian
Iconic Item: Great Club
Eric the Caviler
Was not sure how to approach Eric. Half Elf will let us make him look "youthful" (I guess).
We need a healer for the party, but none of the iconic characters from the cartoon were clerics. Eric was the only possible fit, since the look of the Cleric is not far from that of a Caviler (ie Paladin). Going the cleric rout is also very do-able with Half-elf, since you can always do a Paladin or Fighter Dilettante
